T R I BUT E By Wife 2 Twenty years ago, I met a remarkable young man who was intelligent, confident, knowledgeable, and charming. His name was Robert Essuman Gyasi. He became the love of my life and one of the best gifts God gave me. I met Robert when we were both students at SDA. The first time I interacted with him was through sports activities and his jokes. His jokes drew me in; he continually made me shake with laughter with his great sense of humour. Robby won me over with his hard work, jokes, intellect, and dreams to pursue an extraordinary life, so exciting and fulfilling that I yielded and eventually vowed to him till death do us part. Robby was a husband, father, brother, and uncle who sacrificed For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them. Ecclesiastes 9:1 Robby was a husband, father, brother, and uncle who sacrificed everything of his for my comfort “ 1979 ROBERT GYASI 2023 18 In Loving Memory

everything of his for my comfort, the children’s comfort, and the comfort of his friends, both known and unknown. A hardworking husband who shared everything of his hard work physically and spiritually with everybody around him .Your loving words of comfort and your jokes will always be on my mind. Sunday, April 16th, 2023, started like a normal Sunday for us. One day, the children and I could shut the world out and have Robby to ourselves. A day when he was simply my dad and my husband but now that day marks the beginning of a painful and aching void that we still cannot come to terms with. How can Robby, my husband, be gone? How can he be forever silent? How can he not come walking through the door of our home in the evening when the kids and I would trip over ourselves to be the first to hug him? How? And yet that morning, when I woke up, my prayer was this: “I will trust in the Lord with my heart and not lean on my own understanding. In all my ways, I will acknowledge him, and he will direct my path. Lord, I commit my husband and my children into your hands this day.” Robby, you ended your race without a word to me or the children. My heart is so full of grief as I say farewell to my dear husband, a father, brother, and friend. Thank you for all you have done to make the world a better place for us. We love you and miss you terribly. My only consolation now is that you are with the Lord until we meet again. Robby, my love, rest in perfect peace. Your wife, Peace. A hardworking husband who shared everything of his hard work physically and spiritually with everybody around him “ 1979 ROBERT GYASI 2023 20 In Loving Memory

Today, we remember and celebrate our wonderful father, who was an example of love, caring, and strength. He left a lasting legacy on our lives, providing constant love and support. His constant presence brought warmth and excitement to our days, and his lovely smile, comforting words, and bear hugs healed any wound. Dad, our superhero, was always there to wipe our tears and share our laughter. He showed us unending love. He taught us the true meaning of selflessness by putting our needs ahead of his own. Your knowledge and counsel guided us through life’s ups and downs, and your words of encouragement struck a chord in our hearts, reminding us to pursue our goals with courage. Your unshakable faith in our skills provided us the confidence we needed. Even though we dislike his cooking, he enjoys making porridge in the morning. We take it solely to make him happy, and we have a great time afterwards. Dad, though your love and presence are no longer with us, we find comfort in knowing you are at peace. We carry your affection with us and find comfort in the memories we shared. Rest in peace, and may your soul find peace in Heaven. May the Lord grant you eternal rest from your labour till we meet again. Daa, Da yie…. Daa, gye ahome… May your soul rest in perfect peace! …Amen. By Children Every action under the sky has a time and a season: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to sow and a time to uproot (Ecclesiastes 3:1-2). Your infectious laughter and warm smile had the power to melt away any worries or troubles. As I remember the moments we shared, I find comfort in knowing that you are watching over me, guiding me with your angelic presence. “ Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. The wind blows, and we are gone as though we had never been here. But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments. Amen! Psalms 103:15-18 T R I BUT E BY F R I ENDS 2 Robert Kwaku Gyasi is a friend and a brother to us. We started from our youthful days together. We had our dreams and aspirations. With God on our side, our struggle paid off and life became meaningful to us. We could extend help to neighbours, friends and families as we aspired to do in our youthful years. You were so friendly, understanding and committed to making life meaningful for yourself and people around you. Your sense of humour will never depart from our memories. In your last days with us, every moment with you was captivating, little did we know that your maker was beckoning you over to him. You never showed any sign of sickness so we never expected you to depart from us this soon. The news of your demise remain unbelievable. You will forever be remembered. Farewell our brother, friend, boss and director. Rest well Director!! Your sense of humour will never depart from our memories. 1979 ROBERT GYASI 2023 26 In Loving Memory

We have known him as our speedy jet regardless of his stature, he was the Usain Bolt of our time, a great athlete for that matter. Many cherish the times he made us laugh out on simple jokes. He was full of laughter himself. He was fearless, and some of us hid behind him to confront issues. A self-willed gentleman who confronted life at the earliest stage and becoming an example to all of us in many forms. We had parted ways for more than 20 years, but our friendship with him was always intact. He was a great counsellor who advised amidst jokes to lighten the heavy hearted. Robert has left a gap that will be difficult to fill in our fraternity as he was religiously involved in planning our mega get together after a long period of not seeing each other. We have lost a dear one. Many of us are still in awe of his demise and cannot comprehend the events unfolding before us. To our maker he returns and for that we who believe in the resurrection have the hope of meeting him again. Robert, we are missing you greatly. Robert, Demirifa due. Da yie. We love. T R I BUT E BY KANEWU L AND LORDS AND L AND L AD I E S A S SOC I AT I ON 2 We are all here to remember our dear brother Robert Gyasi, as we call him, Bro Kwaku.” Whose remains lie before us today? He was a stout member of the Landlords’ and Lordladies’ Association who contributed his best to the association. He was very regular in coming for meetings, and he was free and accommodating to every member of the association. Due to his good attitude and behavior, he became our assistant chairman of the association. On that terrible April 16th, 2023. You were, as usual, the first to arrive at the meeting place. I recall that we were all laughing and talking to one another. I had no idea you’d be leaving us so soon. We did everything in our power to save you, but God knows best. We’ll never understand why your time on Earth was so brief. But it is the Lord who gives and takes away, so who are we to question or try to make sense of his ways? You will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, Brother Kwaku. Da yie Onuadcfo: Till we meet again To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born and a time to die. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2. 1 Abide with me: fast falls the eventide; the darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide. When other helpers fail and comforts flee, Help of the helpless, O abide with me. 2 Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day; earth’s joys grow dim, its glories pass away. Change and decay in all around I see. O thou who changest not, abide with me. 3 I need thy presence every passing hour. What but thy grace can foil the tempter’s power? Who like thyself my guide and strength can be? Through cloud and sunshine, O abide with me. 4 I fear no foe with thee at hand to bless, ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness. Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory? I triumph still, if thou abide with me. 5 Hold thou thy cross before my closing eyes. Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies. Heaven’s morning breaks and earth’s vain shadows flee; in life, in death, O Lord, abide with me. 1 Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, born of his Spirit, washed in his blood. Refrain: This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long. This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long. 2 Perfect communion, perfect delight, visions of rapture now burst on my sight. Angels descending bring from above echoes of mercy, whispers of love. Refrain 3 Perfect submission, all is at rest. I in my Savior am happy and bless’d, watching and waiting, looking above, filled with his goodness, lost in his love. HYMNS 1 When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll; whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, “It is well, it is well with my soul.” Refrain: It is well with my soul; it is well, it is well with my soul. 2 Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, let this blest assurance control: that Christ has regarded my helpless estate, and has shed his own blood for my soul. Refrain 3 My sin oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! my sin, not in part, but the whole, is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more; praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul! Refrain 4 O Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, the clouds be rolled back as a scroll; the trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend; even so, it is well with my soul. Refrain 1 God Sent His Son, They Called Him Jesus; He Came To Love, Heal And Forgive. He Lived And Died To Buy My Pardon; An Empty Grave Is There To Prove My Savior Lives. Refrain: Because He Lives I Can Face Tomorrow Because He Lives All Fear Is Gone Because I Know He Holds The Future And Life Is Worth The Living Just Because He Lives 2 How Sweet To Hold A New Born Baby, And Feel The Pride And Joy He Gives; But Greater Still The Calm Assurance: This Child Can Face Uncertain Day Because He Lives.
